Professional Quilting for the Discerning Quiltmaker
|
I began my quilting career as an art quilter working within the Contemporary Hawaiian quilting esthetic. I wanted to push the boundaries of traditional Hawaiian applique by adding traditional American patchwork design elements to the mix. I have been fortunate to be recognized for my work by both the Hawaiian Quilt Research Project, in Honolulu, and the Association of Pacific Northwest Quilters, in Seattle. Since moving back to the Mainland, my quilting interests have widened, and include both traditional and folk art work, as well as the art quilting with which I began my love of quiltmaking. I live with my husband
of 23 years in Point Roberts, Washington, a strange little geographic
anomaly that hangs off of Canada, but is in the USA. I am blessed to
live so close to a large and healthy quilting community in the Greater
Vancouver Regional District of British Columbia. Point Roberts is a
summer holiday town, bordered on three sides by the Straight of Georgia,
with its abundance of sealife: orcas, seals, fish, and birds.
